"I focus on quality and longevity of each piece and use only a simple pallet of sustainable or recycled timbers in my work."
Working with wood has been a natural part of my life for as long as I can remember. My great-grandfather was a master woodcarver and from boyhood I began learning traditional skills and a love for wood from my grandfather.
I am influenced by cabinetmakers and designers from the last 100 years whose work has transcended both time and fashion. James Krenov, Sam Maloof, Norio Tanno, and design philosophies from Japan and Scandinavia, as well as local craftsmen John Shaw and David Haig inspire my own work.
I hand-make contemporary fine furniture, both bespoke and one-off pieces, and make a small range of limited run items. I focus on quality and longevity of each piece and use only a simple pallet of sustainable or recycled timbers in my work.
Only natural oils and waxes so that my pieces can age gracefully over time and gain a character-filled patina.
